Why buransh
Every spring, rhododendron turns whole hillsides red between 1,500 and 3,000 metres. It lasts a few weeks and then it is gone until next year.
Everything we make from it — the tea, the oil — comes out of that one window. We buy the flowers from families who have picked them for generations, dry them in shade so the colour survives, and stop there.
A note from us
We are a small operation, and we would rather stay one. The buransh is picked in the few weeks it flowers. The churan is ground in batches small enough that we taste every one. The malas and rakhis are strung by hands we know by name.
That means we sometimes run out, and one spring's buransh is deeper than the next. We think that is the honest version of a natural product, and we would rather tell you than pretend otherwise.
If something arrives wrong, or you just want to ask what goes into a thing before you buy it — the number below is a real phone, and one of us answers it.
